In Loving Memory of Grady Burke

My sister's brother-in-law and our friend, Grady Burke, was killed in the line of duty, performing the work he loved as a firefighter. Today, we went to the Fallen Firefighter's Memorial here in Colorado Springs. As you view the photos from this peaceful place, please take a minute to remember Grady's precious family as well as the families of all our fallen heros who protect us each and every day.



Thank you, Grady! We miss you!

Texas Bluebonnets and Spring are synonymous! What a beautiful display of God's beauty! My friend, Lea, gave me a beautiful silver bluebonnet charm created by James Avery . You can see it by clicking the link above. I love wearing it because it reminds me of my roots. I still remember the Bluebonnet Song that I learned in elementary school. Bluebonnets, Bluebonnets, With your coats so blue Your bright eyes are shining In the morning dew. They say you're a dolly Offered for the rain And Texas wears blue Bluebonnets in the Spring. Love Present from a Friend

One of my favorite things in the whole wide world is to receive a Love Present . The definition of a Love Present is a gift that someone gives you for no special occasion, but just because. My sweet friend, Claudia, came by the other day with the cutest dishes. She had found them at an antiques store and she said they just looked like me. Don't they make a beautiful display in my kitchen bookshelves? Thank you, Claudia, for the dishes, but most of all for the thought behind the Love Present .
