A Visit to Harding
Last weekend, David and I made a trip to Searcy, Arkansas for my nephew, Ryan's, wedding to Caitlin. It was a wonderful weekend because we got to see so many family members, but it was also lots of fun to walk down memory lane. David and I met at Harding in our freshman year, 1970. BEWARE: This post has LOTS of pictures. David in front of the Administration Building. The Ganus Student Center. This was the meeting place when we were students. David also helped build the Radio Station in the basement of this building. Patti Cobb Dorm where I lived as a freshman. Kendall Hall--my sophomore home. Cone Chapel is where the wedding took place. As you can see out the wall of windows the campus is beautifully lit for the holiday season. Lights over the Harding University arch. More lights. The lily pond. My mom also attended Harding. FUN Photo Friday #2
As I mentioned in my first installment of FUN Photo Friday, I just scroll through my photos and the ones that JUMP out at me are the ones that I post. We don't have long to wait now. April 15th is coming quickly, but not quickly enough for this Nana. Aaron and "Little One" are being highly anticipated. Last year was the first year that Caleb really "got" Easter egg dying. I can't wait to share that fun activity with him again. This is Caleb's best friend, Sophie (a year and a half ago.) His best quote of the week was this. When we went to see the construction on his new house, he showed me the guest room and said, "This is where my friends will sleep. It is OK for girls to sleep here. Sophie is going to sleep here. She is my BESTEST friend." I replied, "I thought I was your best friend, Caleb." He very seriously said, "You are very, very nice." What he was too polite to add was, "but you are not my bestest friend....
The New and Improved Harding Swing
Remember the "un-assembled" Harding Swing? Well here is the new and improved version thanks to my brother Terry. I know Terry and Gail will enjoy many happy times swinging with their two precious grandsons. Aren't my great-nephews cute?
Believe it or not, this is a Harding Swing! I'll post a picture of it intact at a later date. One of the things that we are not taking with us to Colorado is our wonderful Harding Swing. David gave it to me for our 10 Anniversary and it has helped make many happy memories. Happily for us, my brother Terry and his wife Gail who both went to Harding are "adopting" the swing. If they can piece it back together, it will provide many happy memories for them as well. Can't wait to hear about the evenings they spend swinging in it with their two precious grandsons. And just in case you are worried, David has promised to have me another one built when we arrive in Colorado.
