These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Image
Some of the women from our church got together for a FAVORITE THINGS party.  Julie Andrews serenaded us.     We ate our favorite cookies. String--anyone remember the connection? From decorative tape to favorite lipsticks. What would a party be without a children's book? Here's the string connection. We took notes on favorite things we thought we couldn't live without. More favorite things. The always favorite Koji Punch. Why a goose? Now you know why. Some of the precious women who attended. More friends. and more favorite people The party was Kelly's idea so she explained the process of sharing our favorite things. Is anyone surprised? She is so creative. More guests It was so interesting hearing about everyone's favorite things. From ice cream to pens to coffee to lotions to Funyons to jewelry to omelette makers to lots and lots of chocolate. Everyone took home 2 items that they thought they cou...

Color My World

Image
One of the first groups I joined when we moved to CS, was a group in my church called Secret Sisters. Through this group, I have learned to love so many wonderful, fun and giving women. This month, it was my turn to host the group.   Every month, we have a theme, and I chose "Color My World". Is anyone who knows me surprised that I chose a school theme? The crayon banks were a Dollar Tree find.  I just love that store. Each woman took a crayon bank home. We are going to fill the banks with our loose change over the course of this year and then donate the money to a worthy cause.     This tablecloth is actually a parachute. Thanks Kelly for letting me borrow it. We had so many women attend that we had to seat some of them downstairs in our den. The food also had to be colorful so one of the hostesses, Claudia, made this beautiful cake. The flowers are all real and are from her garden. Letha's colo...

Happy Retirement Katy

Image
My Sweet Friend Katy retired last month. She is a very special lady and we share both being  elder's wives and belonging to the same Life Group at our church. It's time to celebrate. Welcome to Retirement Katy! If you look closely, you can see that we had newspapers on the table to honor her time at the Gazette. The napkins also had "G" on them. That was a serendipity since I had originally bought the napkins for "Gibson", not "Gazette". Newspaper streamers hanging from the lanterns. No more working 9 to 5. No more setting an alarm.  I just noticed that the alarm says 2:10.  I don't think Katy woke up quite that early. Our sweet friend Claudia made the cake.  I can't figure out how to rotate the picture, so ready...set...turn your head to the left and you will see the beautiful creation. Another friend, Jeanette, made a precious cookie bouquet.  Unfortunately, we didn't ...

Mother Daughter Tea

Image
On the Saturday before Mother's Day, we had a Mother Daughter Tea at our church.   I thought you might enjoy some  eye candy looking at each of  the beautiful tables.   This was my table. I used my Grandma Aven's Desert Rose dishes. I'm pretty sure I missed photos of some of the tables, but here are the ones I got pictures of. I have added the hostess's name if I knew whose table it was. Forgive me if I mismatched some tables with hostesses.   Claudia Shipton Kami Mead Joan Preslar Victoria Crews Ashley Hollis and Sarah Baxter Claudia Shipton (notice the grandchild created placemats) Jeanette Cox I just love the creativity of my friends.
