Caleb Goes to Houston

Every time I make a trip to
Houston, Caleb asks to go along.
This summer he got his wish.
Checking in at DIA.
Watching for our airplane to arrive.
Exploring the airport with Ducca.
He was a super traveller and so much
fun to have on the trip.
The main reason for the trip
was to meet Caleb's newest 2nd cousins,
Nick and Alex.
He had lots of fun with his
VanLoenen 2nd cousins.
And hanging out with almost grown up
2nd cousins was fun too.
Reading a book about Hurricane Katrina
on Nana's iPad before bedtime.
He got to borrow some
of Matthew's cool blocks.
All dressed up--what a big boy!
He took Sweetie and me on a date!
We had a ball!
He specifically packed
his dress coat for this date.
He got to see Jordan, one of his
friends from when he lived in
Houston.
Not pictured is Sophie,
who he also had a chance to
have a play date with.
He loves it that he is almost as tall
as his Great Aunt Gail.
Uncle Terry being crazy.
On our way back home
with a good book.

Caleb was a great addition
to our trip.  Cannot wait to share
more traveling adventures with our
grandchildren.

Nana Summer Day Camp #4--Fox Run Park

Summer is quickly coming to a close,
and that always makes me a little sad.
Nana Camp went to Fox Run Park on this
beautiful August afternoon.

Caleb on the teeter-totter.

We weren't the only ones enjoying
the beautiful weather.

David loves to dig.

Swinging was a big hit with Aaron...

...and with David

These 2 are pretty evenly matched on the
teeter-totter.

Sliding is fun!

And Caleb loves the swings too!

I think we might have to extend
Nana Day Camp into the
fall & winter!

Colorado Sibling Trip August 2014

I am blessed to have siblings (and their mates)
that David and I love hanging out with.
We just had a visit here in Colorado Springs.
The only sibling missing was Aunt Terry
who is finishing up her schooling
to be a hospital chaplain.  We are excited
for her graduation both because we are
proud of what she has accomplished,
but also because she'll get to join us on
trips more often.

We discovered that we are not very good at SELFIES.

Spent a morning at the Chihuly Exhibit
at the Denver Botanical Garden.

Great Aunts and Uncles got to spend
time with their Great Nieces and Nephews.
PRICELESS

Went to the "world" famous Freddy's
Hamburger Restaurant.  This is a CS
tradition.  Somehow this is the only
picture I got of Uncle Lynn.

Spent some time hiking.

Visited beautiful Helen Hunt Falls.
And contrary to popular opinion,
the actress Helen Hunt did not Fall
during our trip there.

David and I brought out the
Family reunion T-shirts from last
summer.  Thank you Aunt Jenny
and Uncle Jon for these.

There was lots of picture taking.

We only had one rainy day that needed to
be spent indoors, so we visited
Miramont Castle in Manitou Springs.
Another picture of the Chihuly exhibit.

Loved spending time with loved ones in the
beautiful outdoors.
Even visited a highly rated bookstore
in Denver for Jenny since she
couldn't visit it herself.

Can't wait for our next adventure.
NYC--here we come!
