Quilt Topper

I wasn't happy with the white
bedspread in the Grandchildren's Room,
but I didn't really know what I wanted.
I'm so glad I waited.
Yesterday, I found a quilt top
at a local Antique Store.
It looks perfect on the bed
and I'm sure will provide hours of
alphabet "lessons".

I can just picture a sweet little
lady somewhere lovingly
embroidering each picture's letter.

A is for Apple

B is for Ball

C is for Camel
(not sure why some of the pictures
came out sideways)

D is for Duck

E is for Elephant

F is for Frog

G is for Goose

H is for Hen

I is for Ice Cream

J is for Jack in the Box

K is for Kangaroo

L is for Lamb

M is for Mouse

N is for Needle

O is for Owl

P is for Penguin

Q is for Quill

R is for Rabbit

S is for Squirrel

T is for Turkey

U is for Umbrella

V is for Vegetables

W is for Windmill

and then there are X, Y, and Z.

I find it interesting the objects they connected
with each letter years ago.
N would never stand for Needle today.
Ninja, Narwhal, Neptune, etc. maybe.

Which letter's picture is your favorite?
I think I like O is for Owl
and R is for Rabbit the best.

Music Class

When my mom visited Colorado Springs
in February, she went to
music class with Kelly, David and Aaron.
Isn't this just the most priceless picture?

Barbie and Sue Visit the Springs

I think this is my last
Catch-Up post.

My dear friends Barbie and Sue
visited me in February.
We had so much fun and they were
wonderful guests.
Hi Barbie!
Can you believe that I have known and
loved this lady since we were 9 years
old?  I won't tell you how many years
that has been but you can do the math.

Welcome Sue!
Sue and I have only known each other since
high school days.  Baby friendship!  Ha!

We had to wear hairnets for the
Celestial Seasonings Tour.

Aren't we cute?

In front of our Blue Spruce.

This is a view of Pikes Peak from
the end of our street.

Another shot of the Peak and of Sue.
We stopped at the end of the
street on our way out to get
this picture.
Crazy tourists!!!

Visiting David's house.
We also had a good visit with
Caleb and Aaron, but somehow
Nana didn't get pictures.

Sue and Barbie climbing at Garden of the Gods.

Our trip to Woodland Park
got cut short by a snow storm.

Can't leave technology too far
behind when you are on vacation.

They wore me out.
Sometimes I had to just sit and wait
on them.

This was often my view of them.
They were taking lots of pictures.
I don't yet take the beauty I
live in for granted and I hope I never do,
but seeing their awe was very special.
This shot is at Garden of the Gods.

Crazy girls at Focus on the Family.

No, this is not how they traveled.
This plane is in the children's play
area at Focus on the Family.

Another shot at the Celestial Seasonings
Tea Shop in Boulder.

Boulder.  It was a little chilly.

In front of our home.

We didn't have anyone to take a final shot of us
before they left, so we used the bathroom mirror.

I used to sing a song when I was a little girl.
The lyrics went

Make new friends
But keep the old
One is silver
And the other gold.

These are precious "old" friends.

Happy Valentine's Day

 Yes, I am going backwards
in time as I catch up.
Please bear with me.

The table was set and all ready
for the Valentine's Party
with 3 very special little boys
plus an added guest.

The cute blue bags
were for the boys to take
 home their goodies in.

Loved these little vintage
looking plates.  I think they
came from Hobby Lobby.

The cereal boxes were a Pinterest
find and they were a big hit.

What would a Valentine's Party be
without conversation hearts?

Jeremy delivers Aaron and Caleb
to the party.....

and they soon discover the goodies on the table.

Kelly arrives with David.
Notice the snow on the ground.

Caleb is such a good big cousin.
He likes to keep an eye on David.

Sweetie was in town and she made
heart hats for the boys.
Aaron think he is very

David's heart hat.

Let's check out how we look.

Making a collage.

Craft time was fun.

Look at my collage.

I made a heart necklace.

Caleb also made a heart bouquet
for his parents.  On the back of each
heart was a job he would do
to help his parents out.
Thanks you Pinterest for another
great idea.

Heart cookie cutter for a grilled cheese sandwich.

There are "jewels" in this heart shaped bowl which
we put in the freezer.  The idea is to melt the heart
and the jewels will be left.  Each time
I have suggested melting
the heart, Caleb vetoes the idea.
It may be in my freezer until he's 18.

I think Sweetie enjoyed making
crafts as much as the little guys did.

Didn't they turn out pretty?

And of course, the cupcakes were a huge hit.

Happy Valentine's Day.
It's never too late for a day
devoted to love.
