He Leadeth Me

 Last weekend, I went to Houston to attend the first birthday party of my 1 year old twin nephews.   Boy, can my niece and nephew-in-law throw a party. They would be the first to say that others, like MawMaw and Aunt Stacie pitched in to make it a success. I hope you enjoy the wonderful pictures of all the details that made the party so much fun for children and adults alike.   Cookies Cupcakes Popcorn in cute bags with Dr. Seuss sayings. Smash cakes. I had not heard that term before but these were the cakes that Thing 1--Alex and Thing 2--Nick smashed and ate. Assorted sweets all in the blue and red theme. David and I have birthdays with just one day in between so we usually celebrate our birthdays together. It all started this morning with this card. "I wanted to give you a Bear Hug for your Birthday? Big Bear birthday hugs coming your way as soon as I find a corporative bear."   We had breakfast at Over Easy , a breakfast spot that everyone is raving about. David had biscuits, gravy and hash browns and I had Quinioa and fruit.  I was trying to be healthy and it was good, but next time I'll have the French Toast. Our next spot was the Will Rogers Sun Shrine . We had heard that there was beautiful scenery at the shrine. You have probably noticed that I refer to my grandson Aaron as the stuffed animal boy. He loves any and all stuffed animals. So I knew that a visit to Build a Bear was a perfect  birthday present. He was such a little trooper. The lady who was helping us told him to stand on the pedal which would fill his bear with fur. He intently watched as the fur came out of the little machine. Next, it was time to put the heart in his bear. First he held it to his face. Then he kissed it. He was very interested in watching the lady sew up his bear (with the heart inside). He even helped pull the string. Then it was time to bathe and fluff up his bear. He really enjoyed this part. (Sorry for the blurry picture. He was working fast). Although he had trouble picking out the exact animal he wanted, he had no trouble picking out his clothing. However, Bear still doesn't have a name.  He said he needed to ask his mom and dad.
