On our last morning in NYC, David and I took the subway to the New York Public Library's Children's Room. I was captivated by the  displays and  murals on the walls that showed so many of the places we had visited. I hope you enjoy! Welcome to the Children's Room! The original Winnie the Pooh! The Hundred Acre Wood Christopher Robin Oh, how Winnie the Pooh loves his honey. Times Square and the Theater District What a special Green Space Central Park is!! NYC Sibling Trip #5--Random Ramblings

Image
The following are just some random pictures from our NYC Sibling Trip. In front of the fun Ferris Wheel in the world's largest Toys R Us.  Terry and Gail and David and I agreed that if we had had our grandchildren with us, we would have never been able to leave this store (at least with our pocketbooks intact.) A blurry picture of Van Gogh's Starry Night Loved this picture of Randy taking a photo on the Top of the Rock. I was hugging the inside wall because heights are just not my thing. I absolutely loved the Broadway play Matilda. Of course I did.  It was set in a school and was based on the children's book by Roald Dahl. We ate very, very well. This was a picture of our last breakfast together in NYC. Even grown-ups like to play. Largest peeps and largest peep collection I have ever seen. No, we didn't stay here, but we stayed at a very nice hotel thanks to Adrian's prowess at finding good deals. The United Nations as seen

NYC Sibling Trip #4--Guilty Pleasures

I must admit that we did a few non-cultural things while in NYC.   Showing the power of Social Media, Lynn and Terry had posted something about being in NYC and a friend contacted them, told them they were in town as well, and had extra tickets to a Broadway show. While they were on the cultural side of town, the rest of us visited Madam Touseaud's Wax Museum. I had never been to one before, and if we hadn't bought the NYC Pass and been able to get in free, we might not have gone. But it was actually a lot of fun! See if you can guess some of the famous people we hobnobbed with. Some of the "people" were amazingly life-like. I think Queen Elizabeth was the most realistic looking of all. Every time I caught a glimpse of her out of the corner of my eye, I did a double take.   This one if for you Sweetie. Terry's favorite singing group Superman #

NYC Sibling Trip #3--Statue of Liberty

Image
We were not wimps on this trip. We traveled the subways like all good New Yorkers.  Well, except when we got lost and had to be rescued by cabbies. (But that's another story and it only happened to two of us--the two whose last names are Gibson) The boat ride to and from the Statue of Liberty offered spectacular views.   If you've never been up close and personal with Lady Liberty, you owe it to yourself to see her. Terry and Gail Kim and Randy Just a wee bit of commercialism, but it was still inspiring. More views of NYC Lady Liberty's original torch in the Statue of Liberty Museum Sisters Lynn and Terry   Even being close to the statue, you don't appreciate the size until you see life-sized replicas in the museum. A life-size mask of the Statue's face ...and her foot.   A very large ear My travel partner   Isn't the sky spectacular? Except for the first day of our visit, we had amazing weather.
