Yellowstone--Just Us

Image
David and I have been married for 45 years on August 14th. I used to think only "old" people were married that long. It was fun experiencing Yellowstone and the Tetons with my best friend.  At a thermal area.  By a beautiful waterfall.  See the steam from the thermals rising behind us? He can always make me laugh.  Another waterfall.  Perhaps my favorite sights on the trip.  Except the bear. 😜 🐻

Yellowstone Nature

The wildflowers were beautiful.  The waterfalls were amazing.  The thermal areas made you feel you were on another planet.  The rivers were gorgeous.  The Prismatic Springs were like nothing I've ever imagined.  God's handiwork is amazing.

Yellowstone Landmarks

It's a must to have your picture taken in front of the Yellowstone National Park sign.  Beautiful Mammoth Springs One of my favorite stops.  The original gate in Montana.  We had dinner in the Yellowstone Inn one night.  Another evening, we had dinner in the majestic Old Faithful Lodge. The tour of the lodge was fascinating. It has withstood fires and an earthquake.

Yellowstone and Family

My brother Lynn.  My brother Terry.  His middle name is Norris so  we had to go to the Norris geyser.  Terry Girl as we like to call her to differentiate from brother Terry.  All of us.  We missed Kim and Randy on the trip but they were busy enjoying meeting their first grand baby.  Terry and Gail Terry and Lynn  Beautiful scenery and beautiful people.

Yellowstone Animals

The wildlife sightings in Yellowstone were amazing.  Of course, our bear sighting was the most exciting.  It fulfilled one of my LIFE LIST goals.  My sweet husband was prepared to drive out of our way to BEAR WORLD in Idaho if we hadn't seen one in Yellowstone.  We saw hundreds of Bison in a trip we took to Lamar Valley.  Our craziest wildlife encounter came one evening when we were driving after dark. A bison ran, yes they can run, within inches of our front bumper.  It's crazy how the animals think they own the highways. And I guess they do.  Not pictured is a wolf we saw running along the highway as we were driving. We were glad we had the windows rolled up.

Grand Tetons and Yellowstone

We stopped at some interesting sights along the way.  The Tetons were amazing.  Had to copy the Ansel Adams picture of the Morman barn against the backdrop of the Tetons.
