He Leadeth Me

It was a beautiful Saturday, so we decided to join all of the other "leaf peepers" enjoying the colorful Colorado Aspen trees. I wish I could find a way to post the smells and the quaking sounds. Pictures just don't do God's amazing creation justice.   The sky was a brilliant blue. The mountains add a gorgeous backdrop.   These horses seem to be enjoying the sights as well. Happy Fall, Y'all.  

I am blessed to have siblings (and their mates) that David and I love hanging out with. We just had a visit here in Colorado Springs. The only sibling missing was Aunt Terry who is finishing up her schooling to be a hospital chaplain.  We are excited for her graduation both because we are proud of what she has accomplished, but also because she'll get to join us on trips more often.   We discovered that we are not very good at SELFIES. Spent a morning at the Chihuly Exhibit at the Denver Botanical Garden. Great Aunts and Uncles got to spend time with their Great Nieces and Nephews. PRICELESS Went to the "world" famous Freddy's Hamburger Restaurant.  This is a CS tradition.  Somehow this is the only picture I got of Uncle Lynn. Spent some time hiking. David and I have birthdays with just one day in between so we usually celebrate our birthdays together. It all started this morning with this card. "I wanted to give you a Bear Hug for your Birthday? Big Bear birthday hugs coming your way as soon as I find a corporative bear."   We had breakfast at Over Easy , a breakfast spot that everyone is raving about. David had biscuits, gravy and hash browns and I had Quinioa and fruit.  I was trying to be healthy and it was good, but next time I'll have the French Toast. Our next spot was the Will Rogers Sun Shrine . We had heard that there was beautiful scenery at the shrine. Our Family Reunion was in July. I have been so busy since then that I haven't spent a lot of time blogging. So for the next few posts, you are going to get to see my precious family and the beautiful  YMCA of the Rockies at Estes Park. Sweetie is the matriarch of the family so she gets to be featured in the first blog post. Here she is with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Missing from the photo are: Emily, Philip, and Sarah who were all at the reunion but had to leave before pictures were taken.   Gail and Jon created a fun game of family bingo. David and I are trying to do more walking for a couple of reasons. First, I am trying to lose weight. (It's out there now, so no turning back!) Secondly, we are going to  Washington, D.C. this October  with my siblings and spouses (CAN'T WAIT!) so we want to be ready for lots and lots and lots of walking. Fox Run Regional Park was our destination today. Not a bad spot for a hike, I'd say! Love the way the trees reflected in the water.
