Our good friends David and Barbie
stopped by to see us on
their way to Estes Park.
As on many July evenings,
we had rain, but decided to
take a drive through
Garden of the Gods anyway.
We were rewarded with the most beautiful double rainbow I have ever seen. |
David C. noted that the colors on the two rainbows are reversed. Can anyone explain that phenomenon? |
The remainder of the photos need no captions. Just enjoy the beauty! |

Amazing photos! I can't believe they lasted so long. I bet Barbie was absolutely giddy!
I have always loved rainbows. I used to have my office decorated with them :-) These are amazing. Hope you don't mind if I copy one and put it on my page :-) Thanks for sharing!!
Really spectacular! Kelly
According to wikipedia, a double rainbow does have reverse color order, with the reds closest to each other. This is caused by light reflecting twice inside water droplets. I guess that's the reason, although my mind still can't really grasp it! Good observation, David C.!
