Goodbye Summer

We are having our first nighttime
freezes of the autumn here in Colorado.
This summer was the first
real summer that I enjoyed gardening.
My roses are still blooming
and the grandsons' garden is
still producing tomatoes.
I thought I had better bring
the green tomatoes in so that
they wouldn't freeze and be ruined.

Does anyone know if they will turn
red off the vine?  

I'm really going to miss
my garden this winter,
but I guess that is what makes
springtime oh, so sweet.

Texas Bluebonnets and Spring are synonymous! What a beautiful display of God's beauty! My friend, Lea, gave me a beautiful silver bluebonnet charm created by James Avery . You can see it by clicking the link above. I love wearing it because it reminds me of my roots. I still remember the Bluebonnet Song that I learned in elementary school. Bluebonnets, Bluebonnets, With your coats so blue Your bright eyes are shining In the morning dew. They say you're a dolly Offered for the rain And Texas wears blue Bluebonnets in the Spring.
