Christmas ABC's 2016

Image
I'm a little late in getting our 2016 Christmas ABC's done, so I have randomly picked some of the pictures that I like the most and we'll see how creative I can be in  assigning letters to them. A is for Alaska. We enjoyed the trip of a lifetime in July and had more fun than we even imagined. B oth David and I agreed that this was the highlight of 2016. The Deadliest C atch excursion was one of our favorite parts of the trip.   The summer D ays that I spent with this crew filled my heart with joy. E very time I went to Houston, there was some new E xciting E vent. This E xperience was getting to visit my niece, Stacie's school where she had just been named principal. We also had two weddings and  other fun memories.   We had lots of F un decorating cookies on the deck. This is the G ang playing sack races at our end of summer Carnival put on by the Rollett family. H ow can you not know there is a w...

Cupcake Nana Cousin Camp--Summer 2016

Image
Nana Cousin Camp this week had a cupcake theme. For dinner we ate  delicious Marco's Pizza (David told his mama that Nana always cooks the best food for Nana Camp--Do I have him fooled or what?) Then the cupcake decorating started in earnest. Caleb's creation The eyeball decorations were a huge hit. Cora was VERY focused on her decorating and went heavy on the sprinkles Aaron was the first to eat his decorated cupcake. Let's show off our handiwork. So, I next resorted to a good old-fashioned cake mix and Cora's mama said a little egg wouldn't hurt her. Whew! As you can tell, Nana didn't just fall off the turnip truck.  When using sprinkles and lots of frosting, you do the decorating outside on the deck. You might remember Anna Kate from previous year's Cousin Camps. Her...

Family Photos

Image
This is probably the most famous photo since I have shared it and it is now my FB profile picture.  The Little Princess with her loyal subjects. I thought it would be fun to give a little background on our recent family photo adventure. Several years ago, our three families decided to do "something different" for Christmas gifts because we didn't really need any more "STUFF." We still buy for the children but for the adults, we have done a variety of things. One year we all bought gift cards to restaurants  and other places  and then we all picked our favorite gift cards  as gifts. For another couple of years, the rule was that you had to buy your gifts at a yard sale or thrift shop.  Lots of fun with that one. This past Christmas, each family drew a season, and we were in charge of planning an event for the entire family for that season. So the event from David and I to the e...
