My Three Grandsons

Image
One of my favorite shows of all times was My Three Sons with Fred McMurray. I am reviving the show but with a twist. It is going to be called My Three Grandsons. Caleb (3 Years) Aaron (3 Weeks) David (9 Days)

Good Times With David

Image
I am having the wonderful privilege of taking care of my newest grandson (along with his mom and dad) during his first few days of life. What a joy it is to see this precious new life! He is changing already so I thought I'd share a few photos of his first days. There will be many more in the days, weeks, months, and years to come. David with his mama and daddy. As we sing in our family, "Teeny, tiny baby, just been born." Proud papa. This is a big old yawn. All this eating and growing is hard work. What joy to be a Nana.

Big David and Little David

Image
Our daughter, Kelly and her husband Adrian blessed us with another grandchild on Sunday morning, April 18, 2010. David Sidney weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is named David after both his maternal and paternal grandfathers. His middle name comes from his paternal great-grandfather. He is adorable (even in the middle of the night.)

One AnnMa, One Nana, and One Caleb

Image
I am so lucky to live in the same city and share my sweet grandson, Caleb, with his maternal grandmother, AnnMa. We recently took Caleb on an outing to the zoo, just the three of us. Nana and Caleb being silly sticking our tongues out when we were riding the "Merry Ride" also known as the Merry Go Round. One of the neatest exhibits is the bird house. In this wonderful place, you can mingle with all types of beautiful birds. One of the birds landed on AnnMa's shoulder. Isn't this little fellow beautiful? Caleb was fascinated when a bird landed right on his feeding stick. I look forward to many more adventures with AnnMa and our grandchildren.

Answer to Antique Guessing Game

Image
Several people guessed correctly. This was used before steam irons to sprinkle clothing before ironing. I remember fondly watching my mother sprinkle clothes, then put them in the freezer for a little while, then iron them. I even did this a few times myself. (When I was a wee child, of course.) Ahh! The good old days!

Antique Guessing Game

I found this fun item at an antique sale and it immediately brought back fun memories. Can anyone guess what this coke bottle with attachment was used for? My mama will know for sure.

Springtime in Colorado

Image
The theme of springtime in Colorado is that there are beautiful days of sunshine, but don't be surprised if there is a random snow "storm" now and then. The little girl down the street took advantage of our last snow to make a miniature snowman. The next day all the snow around this little guy had melted leaving him standing all alone in the soon to be green grass.

Smiling Baby Boy

Image
I know that some people say that when babies smile, it is gas, but I respectfully beg to differ. I like Aaron's other grandmother, AnnMa's, theory. They are feeling angel kisses. If you tire easily of baby photos, you might not want to check in on my blog for the next month or so. April is a big month in our home, and our cups are truly running over with joy. And we still have one grandbaby yet to arrive. Hurry up, Little One.

Fun Photo Friday #5 Grandson Edition

Image
On Wednesday, Aaron made his first visit to Nana and Ducca's house. He brought his big brother, Caleb along. Ducca thinks he is pretty special. Nana can't get enough of him. And his mama and daddy love him to pieces.

11 Birthdays

Image
11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass My rating: 5 of 5 stars If you like the premise of the movie Groundhog Day where a day is lived over and over until the characters "get it right", you will like this book. This book is one of the 2010/2011 Texas Bluebonnet books for children. Very well written. View all my reviews >>

Aaron Michael

Image
David (Ducca) and I have gotten to see Aaron Michael twice so far. Last night, I was traveling back from teaching in Houston when I got the call that Mandy was in labor. I urged the pilot to fly as fast as he could :) and we were in the hospital within about 2 hours of Aaron's birth. What a precious little boy he is! The above picture was taken at our second visit on Sunday afternoon. We are heading back up there now. We just cannot get enough of this precious bundle of joy! Although the light in this picture isn't too good, it shows how little Aaron is (and howproud his daddy is.) The next several pictures are just a few hours after his birth. Isn't he beautiful? Thanks for all the prayers for this precious little one. We are so thankful that he is here. More pictures soon!!!
