Labor Day Balloon Festival

Image
As some of you might have heard, we had to cancel our trip to Oregon for my nephew's wedding and for our annual sibling trip because my sweet husband had another kidney stone surgery last week. As you can imagine, I was just a little bit sad about being home while my family was celebrating. Jeremy knows how much I love the Labor Day Balloon lift off in our town, so he and Caleb and Aaron picked me up at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, Mandy was working and David was recuperating. We parked in our traditional spot across the lake and enjoyed the sights. My friend Brenda Brizendine got a terrific picture of a balloon and its reflection in the lake. That's what I was going for in this picture.   Mine doesn't compare to hers. No, this little girl is not part of our party, but our grandchildren make friends wherever they go. Darth Vadar was a huge hit with the boys. Yoda was also impressive. The Mardi Gras clown was...

Sky Socks Baseball

Image
I had a date recently with two of my favorite guys. We went to a Sky Socks (Colorado Springs Minor League) baseball game. Caleb was a Boston fan at the Sky Socks game. He wasn't the only Boston fan there. When we sang Sweet Caroline, their were lots of voices. The field is beautiful. When we sang the National Anthem, you could actually here lots of people singing. Jeremy has a beautiful voice and it was nice to hear him singing next to me. There was a whole group of fans sitting on blankets on the hill on the left outfield side. We might do that next time. The mascot was fun to watch. There were a few raindrops, but the wind was blowing and the evening was cool and delightful. Loved being with these two guys. The fireworks after the game were awe inspiring. Pictures don't do the fireworks justice.  It was really fun hearing all the oohs and aahs from the audience. During the fireworks a nice lady came up to Caleb and...

Happy Belated Birthday Dear Jeremy

Image
When your birthday is July 6th, just two days after the nation's birthday, it always seems like you get the BELATED birthday wishes! Sorry Jeremy! Wasn't he an adorable one year old? This picture reminds me just a little of Aaron. He had such fun with his big sister, Kelly. He still enjoys his afternoon naps, just not with Kermit the Frog anymore. He is an amazing Christian man, friend, husband, father, son, uncle, and all around good guy! And he's not a bad dancer either! Happy Birthday Jeremy! Thanks for all you do to make your mom and dad very proud to call you our Son!
