HELP Please!

Image
This is what my back deck currently looks like. BORING!!! I just cannot decide on what kind of furnishings I want there. That's where you come in. I desperately need your help. Maybe it would help if I tell you what I don't want! I don't want traditional patio furniture. There is nothing wrong with traditional, but I want something different that is unique and me. Here are some things I have considered. A old fashioned picnic table Shabby Chic Patio furniture (I already have a green rusted chair that David is not so fond of) Antique School Desks painted with outdoor paint A glider! OK--what do you think? I need some of your great ideas! Oh, I almost forgot! I don't want to spend a fortune. And one more thing--I'm more of a "back porch" kind of girl than a "deck" kind of girl!

Master Bedroom

Image
My mom noticed when I gave my home tour the other day that I didn't have any pictures of the Master Bedroom. That was because I had a dilemma. I had purchased some really neat bed linens in black, white, and red, but the house had the custom drapes and valance that you see below. The Black, White, and Red just didn't match. I have been searching for a while for something that we could really like and that would also match the drapes. Today I found it! And ON SALE!! I love the new look! One little section of the room is reserved for very special visitors. Sue Burke, if you ever see my blog, please notice the blanket. You made this for Jeremy 31 years ago. It's still beautiful. OK, Mom, now you have seen the Master Bedroom!

Snow Shovel Controversy

Image
The Patio Home we are leasing has someone who comes and plows out the driveway, sidewalks, and streets when it snows. We happily watching this man's hard work this morning from the comfort of our warm and cozy home. Now you might wonder what is controversial about that. Well, here is the issue. Since the home we are buying does not have the same service, I very kindly offered to buy my sweet husband a snow shovel. He, on the other hand, being the enlightened man that he is, said that he would buy me one. So you get to vote with your comments. Who should shovel snow? The husband or the wife?

Laundry Dilemma UPDATE

Well friends, you saw the many suggestions that came in about my laundry dilemma. I am taking all suggestions to heart, but there are two that are getting the most consideration. #1 --Jenni had the very first suggestion about granite countertops. Since I have not had granite countertops before and have them now, this seemed to make a lot of sense. So for the past 2 days, I have worn an apron almost all day when I am at home (much to David's amusement--he thinks I am always cooking) and ALAS there have been no new holes sighted. #2 --You did not see this idea because it came in e-mail format, but it was so delightful that I feel I must share. The author (who will remain anonymous unless you recognize the initials LF) suggested that the holes came from my Belly Button Ring. LOL HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!

Laundry Dilemma

Image
OK, all of my friends in Blogland, I have a problem and those closest to me are getting tired of me showing them my laundry dilemma and of me trying to get them to help me figure it out so I am sharing my problem with you in hopes that some BRILLIANT person can help me. Several, and I mean several of my shirts are getting holes in them. I hope you can see from the pictures below--I have put a red cloth behind the holes in hopes that they would show up better. They start out with tiny little pinprick holes and then they "grow". They are always right about waist level. I have been working on this puzzle for a several weeks because I don't want to have to replace all my clothing every few weeks (although there is a Stein Mart in Colorado Springs.) See the solutions that have been ruled out. not one of my bracelets puncturing the cloth no, I'm not wearing a belt that is puncturing the cloth it does not seem to be something that I am leaning up against the seatbelt ...
