Is Santa a Teacher?

Teachers look forward to the Christmas season for two very special reasons.
#1--They get a very well-deserved 2 weeks off from their teaching duties
to enjoy their personal children.

#2--They get to see the joy and excitement that is Christmas
in the lives of their students.

A few years ago my friend Debi gave me this precious "Teacher Santa"
and his classroom of little angels.


Isn't that the perfect Christmas decoration for an educator?

When I taught 4th Grade, every year I read my students the story Marty's Secret by Diane Rayner which was originally published in Guideposts Magazine in 1983. It is a timeless story that will not fail to touch your heart. You can access the story at Guideposts.com.

You know I have a little classroom set too, and it's one of my favorite things to set out every year. It will always be one of those special things we share, and now our grandchildren can enjoy them too.

There is something special about 4th grade teachers. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Kirkpatrick and Shannon's was Mrs. Roesler. I'm sure your students can look back and say their favorite teacher of all was Mrs. Gison, their 4th grade teacher!!! I can see that in you.~donna

I have loved the Dansko shoes that I wear when it is cool. But I needed some comfortable walking shoes and amazingly Dansko now makes  "tennis shoes". They are so comfortable, although a little wild.  Probably should have gone with a more neutral pair, but these are fun. And to all the fashion police out there, no, one pant leg is not longer than the other.  It is just the angle of the camera. Sheesh!!!!!

Laundry Dilemma

OK, all of my friends in Blogland, I have a problem and those closest to me are getting tired of me showing them my laundry dilemma and of me trying to get them to help me figure it out so I am sharing my problem with you in hopes that some BRILLIANT person can help me. Several, and I mean several of my shirts are getting holes in them. I hope you can see from the pictures below--I have put a red cloth behind the holes in hopes that they would show up better. They start out with tiny little pinprick holes and then they "grow". They are always right about waist level. I have been working on this puzzle for a several weeks because I don't want to have to replace all my clothing every few weeks (although there is a Stein Mart in Colorado Springs.) See the solutions that have been ruled out. not one of my bracelets puncturing the cloth no, I'm not wearing a belt that is puncturing the cloth it does not seem to be something that I am leaning up against the seatbelt ...

I'm not sure if I should thank my friend Mindy for letting me know that Kohl's is featuring Skippyjon Jones items in their stores, or whether I should send her the bill for the items I purchased.
